List of Services Provided by Tillman Computer Services

TCS can provide any and all parts required for repairs and upgrades. We sell only high quality parts manufactured by some of the most recognized names in the computer industry such as AMD, Intel, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, Kingston, Apacer, Seagate, Western Digital, LiteOn, Logitech, ATI, Nvidia, Microsoft and more. If parts are not currently in stock we can order them and have them available usually within 2 business days. You'll find our prices are comparable to and quite often less than the major chain stores and other competitors.

Generally, most services, repairs and upgrades have a quick turnaround time of 2-3 business days.

Hardware/Software Diagnostics and General Routine Maintenance

Diagnostics – Desktop or laptop not requiring opening of case	$50.00	Diagnose hardware or software problems and advise of corrective actions or repairs needed. 50% of the diagnostics fee is applied to the cost of corrective actions or repairs if TCS performs them.
Diagnostics – Laptop requiring opening of case	$70.00	50% of the diagnostics fee is applied to the cost of corrective actions or repairs if TCS performs them.
System Optimization	$30.00	Optimize system by removing unneeded files, system startup programs, cleaning the system registry, and defragmenting the hard disk.
Computer Cleaning	$20.00DT $50.00LT	Remove dust and dirt from inside of the computer case, power supply, exhaust fans, clean floppy drives and CD/DVD drives.

Specialized Software Services

Virus, Adware, Spyware and other Malicious Software Removal	$90.00-$110.00	$90.00 - Includes installation of Windows Operating System updates ($25.00 value, see below) and System Optimization ($30.00 value, see above). $110.00 - In rare cases a complete operating system restore may be necessary. In this event, the owner may be required to provide the original operating system restore disks.
Complete System Backup	$100.00 + Media Cost	This is a 100% system backup, including data files.
Data File Backup	$40.00 + Media Cost	Data files only (IE-Word documents, Excel Spreadsheets, Pictures, Music, etc). It is recommended to have a data file backup done in conjunction with Virus, Adware, Spyware and other Malicious Software removal.
Data File Transfer	$40.00	Transfer data files from one computer to another. This is data files only, NOT programs.
Data Recovery	$50-$150 ($50.00 Up-front)	Perform data recovery on crashed hard disk drive. The hard disk drive must be in working condition. THIS MAY NOT BE SUCCESSFUL DUE TO THE CONDITION OF THE HARD DRIVE RECOVERING FROM. OUR MINIMUM FEE APPLIES EVEN IF NOT SUCCESSFUL.
Install/Uninstall Programs, Operating system updates or program updates	$25.00 Per Program or O/S	Customer must provide operating systems and/or software/hardware install disks when needed.
Operating System Install – New or Upgrade, Repair or Reinstall	$80.00	Labor only – Customer may be required to provide original operating system disks and hardware drivers.

Specialized Hardware Services

The following Specialized Hardware and Networking/Internet Services require customer-supplied parts. The parts can be purchased from TCS or acquired elsewhere. However, parts purchased or acquired elsewhere must be in working order and be compatible with your computer and your operating system. If the parts are not in working order or are not compatible with either your computer or your operating system, our fee still applies.

Parts Installation	$25.00 Per Part	Memory purchased from TCS is installed free. Customer must provide hardware driver disks. When a hard drive is installed, formatting, operating system installation/reinstallation, data file backup or transfer, data recovery and other services are available at an additional cost.
Motherboard Replacement (Labor Only-no parts incl.) $60.00 - Desktop $$100.00 - Laptop	$60.00-$100.00	Usually a motherboard replacement requires installation of an operating system. The customer may be required to provide the operating system install disks and hardware driver disks. Operating system installation is included in the price of the motherboard replacement. Any other services will be an additional charge. /font>
Mirror Hard Disk to another Hard Disk	$40.00	Both hard disks must be in working order. If not, our fee will still apply. Most commonly, this service is done in conjunction with upgrading hard disks (IE – from a 120GB HDD to a 250GB HDD).

Specialized In-House Laptop Services
Note: Laptop Services require the customer to bring in both the laptop and the AC Power Adapter.
These services are performed in our store by us, not sent out to a third party.

Laptop DC Jack (Where your power adapter plugs into the laptop) Repair	$120.00 + Parts	Laptop DC Jack repairs are made in our shop, not sent out to another facility. If a new jack needs to be ordered, this repair will take about 7-10 days. (Laptop diagnostics requiring opening of case fee up-front and non-refundable)
Laptop Screen Replacement	$50.00 + Parts
Laptop Screen BackLight and Inverter Replacement	$195.00	Includes Backlight or Inverter, Labor and sales tax. This repair will take about 7-10 days.

Networking/Internet Services

Wireless, Wired Network Setup and Dial-Up (telephone) Internet Access	$40.00 Per Computer	Customer will be required to provide user names, passwords and any other information needed to successfully complete the setup services. Other hardware, software and/or services may apply.

Miscellaneous Services

On-Site Service Call Charge	$30.00 - $50.00	$30.00 - If within 20 mile radius of our store. $50.00 - If farther than 20 miles and less than or equal to 50 miles. We do not provide on-site services farther than a 50 mile radius of our store.
Per Hour or Partial Hour Labor Charge	$50.00	This charge is per hour for on-site services and in-store services that do not fall into one of our flat-rate fee services. For on-site services, this rate or flat-rate fee for service applies, whichever is greater. This charge is NOT pro-rated to account for partial hours worked.

Items in RED require UP-FRONT payment.

Special order parts (Parts not in stock):
1. All special order parts require UP-FRONT payment.
2. Special order parts may not be cancelled once the the part(s) have been ordered.
3. Special order parts cancelled before the order is placed are subject to a 25% cancellation fee.
4. Special order parts are not eligible for return.
5. Special order parts may not be identical to original parts, but may be compatible parts.
6. All special order parts, unless specifically stated otherwise, are new.

Currently, Illinois does not charge sales tax on services rendered (labor), but the cost of parts do incur sales tax.
